Parking at the University of Alberta Park Access Community Info FAQ

The City of Edmonton will play host to the prestigious CPKC Women’s Open at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club from August 19 to August 23, 2026.

Golf Canada, in partnership with the City of Edmonton, is working to ensure a safe and successful event for all. Golf Canada remains committed to maintaining open and ongoing communication with the community as tournament planning is finalized. Residents neighbouring the golf course can be assured that essential municipal services—including waste collection and public transit—will continue without disruption throughout the event

Parking at the University of Alberta

All attendees should park in one of the recommended locations on campus, found on our parking page. Event parking will not be permitted in the neighbourhood surrounding the school – those that do park in restricted areas run the risk of being tagged/towed. No public tournament parking will be permitted within William Hawrelak Park and only ride share/pickup & dropoff are permitted at the park.

Park Access

Public access to William Hawrelak Park will be maintained throughout the duration of the tournament. While the CPKC Women’s Open will utilize a portion of the park to support tournament operations, including a section of the main parking lot and select areas adjacent to the golf course for temporary tournament infrastructure, the park itself will remain open and accessible for day-to-day recreational use.

Visitors will continue to have access to the park’s pathways, green spaces, and other amenities throughout tournament week. Tournament staff and signage will be in place to help direct both park users and event attendees, ensuring safe and efficient movement throughout the area while minimizing impacts on regular park activities.

Please note that parking will not be available at Emily Murphy Park from August 17–23, as the parking lot will be reserved exclusively for tournament operations, including event parking, deliveries and operational support.

The tournament will not affect any municipal services that would otherwise normally take place.

  • What is the CPKC Women’s Open?

    The CPKC Women’s Open is a professional golf event hosted by Golf Canada and sanctioned by LPGA Tour. The event is the only Canadian stop on the LPGA’s global Tour and will feature the top golfers in the world, including defending champion Canadian star Brooke Henderson. This year’s playing will run from August 19th – August 23rd at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club.

    Play begins around 7:00 am each morning and concludes around 7:00 pm each evening.

  • Who can I contact to issue a street parking concerns?

    If you require immediate enforcement during the CPKC Women’s open, please call the City of Edmonton’s non-emergency phone number: 3-7-7

  • Will public transit routing change as a result of the closure?

    The tournament will not affect any municipal services (i.e., trash pickup or public transit) that would otherwise normally take place. It is asked that your waste is curbside by 7:00 am on your regularly scheduled collection day as collection may be earlier than usual.

  • Can I use ride share services to get to the event?

    Yes, you can! All ride share vehicles and other for hire vehicles will be directed to William Hawrelak Park.

  • Can I bike to the event?

    Of course! Bike parking will be available outside of tournament outside within William Hawrelak Park. Bring your bike lock!

  • Are there still tickets available?

    Many ticket options are still available for purchase by visiting the CPKC Women’s Open ticket page. Don’t forget, youth under 12 get in free!

  • What is there to do at the event?

    There is something for everyone on site at the CPKC Women’s Open! Spectators can watch the world’s best tee off with miles of front row seats available over 18 holes on the course. The Fare Way is returning in 2026, featuring concessions and spectator activations hosted by event partners.
